Physical Therapy is the preferred treatment modality for work related injuries, and in most cases, is the first course of treatment prescribed by our doctor for workers' compensation patients. First, the patient will be thoroughly evaluated by our Physical Therapist, who will then discuss treatment options, which may include Massage/Manual Therapy, Ultrasound Therapy, Ice/Heating Pads, Electric Stimulation and Therapeutic Execises. All Physical Therapy treatment is done in accordance with New York State guidelines. Once the initial course of treatment is finished, and further traetment is warranted based on medical necessity, our office will contact the insurance carrier and file what is known as a "variance" for continued treatment.
